Asana Explained

Yoga means “to Yoke”

to bring together, to work as one. We want to work together, support and encourage each other on this journey to be the best we can be – mind, body and spirit. Asana are poses practiced in a class with a well-trained and certified instructor who can offer modification to accommodate individuals’ needs and levels. Verbal instructions as well as demonstrations are just some of the tools used to assist each student achieve his or her individual goals. We believe in No Competition, No Judgement and Reasonable Expectations.

Eat Well. Live Well.

Yoga isn’t just the poses, it’s a lifestyle that incorporates multiple disciplines.

We bring all aspects of the yoga practice into our classes. One key aspect is “no harm”. This key virtue means no harm to oneself or any living creature. We encourage students to practice this virtue in the class and invite the student to extend this virtue into daily life. Practice eating healthy, stress-less foods that add to the mind, body, and spirit. This way we are not as sluggish, we are able to live healthier, more productive lives. Let’s try to live in such a way that we cause no harm in thought, speech or action to any living being.

“Asanas bring perfection in body, beauty in form, grace, strength, compactness, and the hardness and brilliance of a diamond.”

“The asanas are useful maps to explore yourself, but they are not the territory.”
